Quiet Book Pattern Directory

One of the things that can be most helpful when making your own quiet book is a template. Templates (or patterns) give you something to work with and can make planning your quiet book and cutting out shapes a lot easier. With that in mind, here is a list of free quiet book patterns available online.

      Click on whichever link you're interested in. This should take you to the webpage where the template is, and there should be a link somewhere on that page to download the template. Then you can print it. Each website will be different, so it will depend on which template you're interested in. :)

    This is the best blog I have found in ages!!! Cannot wait to start making my babies own book! Please just explain how to put the book together, with the rings? Will the felt not tear? Thanks!

      Hi! I used my sewing machine to sew three button holes in the side of each page, and I put the binder rings through the button holes. That way I could make sure the felt wouldn't tear. :)

    Another blog mentioned you were successful at gluing a Mr. Potato Head instead of sewing but I can't seem to find it.

      Hi! You might be thinking of this post: http://quietbookblog.blogspot.com/2012/10/lauryns-quiet-books.html. She used hot glue for all her pages instead of sewing, including her Mr. Potato page.

    Thank you so much for all your templates! I've made quite a few pages now but due to the materials (veggies, fruits, barn animals, dog collar etc) the book is super buldgy in the middle and doesn't lay flat at all. Do you have any advice on how to combat that?

    Question. How do you bind the book? I am trying to put mine together but I am having a hard time. Do you sew the pages together right sides together, flip and top stitch? And how do you attach a cover?

    I had never heard of Quiet/Busy Books until my daughter-in-law told me that she would like me to make one her for first born. I have been doing a lot of research on this topic and I must admit that I'm intrigued! I will be making a few of these myself, Thank you to all who have blogs with free templates.     I'm using busy/quiet book ideas to make a gift for a friend who is soon to be a Grandmother- it's her Baby Sitting Shirt!

    Take a heavy weight T-shirt or sweatshirt - something comfortable and, most important, washable. With fabric scraps, zippers, beads etc. use any of the ideas here and sew them onto the shirt on the chest and shoulders.

    Add a pocket that's just the right size for a few tissues down at waist or hip level - something that is easy for Grandma to reach.

    On my Mom's I put a stuffed cloud shape on one side near the shoulder, containing a Touchtone music button that plays a lullaby when you press it. The button can be removed from the inside of the shirt - it's not washable - through a small flap that closes with a snap fastener.

    I had the words "Rae's Baby Sitting Shirt" commercially embroidered on the one I made for my Mother. If you have a machine that does embroidery you could do that yourself, or use fabric paints.

    Yeah, my Quiet book about bugs is done. It is about ten creepy crawlers and one I spy page. This is where you can see how to finish off the book.
    It gives children of 3 years and above the chance to look at the little animals up close and practice their dexterity.
