Joan's Refrigerator Quiet Book Page

Hi everyone! Today's quiet book page was made by grandmother Joan. It's one of many that she's made; she has so many pages now that they don't fit in the pictures you see below and are held together with shower curtain rings! This page of Joan's is about the food in a refrigerator; the page before lists some foods one can eat, and then the next page has the fridge with doors that open and close.

Interview

What's your name? Describe yourself in one sentence.
I’m Gramma to 2 boys, one is 2 years old, the other 5 months old, been sewing for 60 years.

How long did it take you?
I made several pages all at the same time, hard to judge the individual time for each but guess an hour?

Did you use any templates?
No template for fridge – just squares.

How did you bind your quiet book?
I use 2 thickness of grosgrain ribbon for edge. Have made so many pages that have now abandoned the notebook and use metal shower curtain holders to keep them together: Stainless Steel Shower Curtain Hooks We change up the ones we take on trips to the store to keep it fresh.

What material are the pages made out of?
Most of the materials are felt but fridge is satin lining with satin ribbon handles. The door opens to show fruit in the fridge.

How much did all the supplies cost you?
Zero $ – but been sewing forever and have scraps. Could cost about $1.

Joan, thank you so much for sharing your creative quiet book page with us!
